Dan has been a leader in mission-driven organizations for over 25 years. He’s helped companies manage challenges and adapt to change successfully. His success in tackling issues resides in his ability to see the shared vision of an organization and to map operations on how best to achieve it. Dan's ability to solve complex problems is best displayed by his natural curiosity and a judgment-free approach that’s informed by innovative design thinking. In all of his leadership roles, Dan has been a trusted leader, colleague, supervisor, advisor and mentor.
Dan’s work has held senior operations and finance roles in prominent social change organizations such as Hopelab Foundation, the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, Pangaea Global AIDS Foundation, Mother Jones Magazine and other prominent non-profit entities. In those roles, he operated as a trusted leader to manage supporting functions without a lot of drama and to create novel systems or approaches to improve services and flow across the organization. Dan has been told numerous times that he is a welcome addition to any meeting because he always offers his viewpoint of how best to take an idea to the next level.
Dan is also a certified executive coach who brings an inquiry approach to matters of both professional and personal growth. Similar to his many roles across his career, Dan works with clients to clearly articulate the change they want to achieve and the challenges they see in achieving them. He helps clients identify and evaluate new and alternative approaches in order to meet their aspirations. He offers continued support and joyously acknowledges and celebrates their success.
In addition to being a client cheerleader and ideal problem solver, Dan is a devoted husband, a father to two adult children, an enthusiastic mixologist and an avid traveler.

Lance has over 25 years of experience in a non-linear career that has placed him in a variety of leadership roles in a similarly wide variety of organizational settings. The common thread, visible perhaps only in hindsight, is helping lead mission-driven organizations through complex opportunities and challenges that touch programs, operations, management, sustainability, culture and strategy. In each case the organizations Lance has helped lead have confronted significant growth opportunities and emerged stronger, more sustainable, and with greater impact.
Among the organizations where Lance has helped lead these efforts is the Kapor Center, the Skoll Foundation, the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, the Pangaea Global AIDS Foundation and the Names Project Foundation. His roles have included the entire ‘C-Suite’ – Chief Financial Officer, Chief Program Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Development Officer, and Chief Executive Officer. It perhaps reflects that he can’t figure out where he belongs, but the end result is a broad and diverse set of experiences that inform a holistic and strategic perspective on organizational development and management.
It is these diverse perspectives that drew Lance to co-found Impact Amplified with the goal of helping mission-driven organizations unravel the complexity inherent in new and potentially transformative opportunities – and help them position themselves for sustainable and larger-scale impact. Lance’s consulting work is grounded in practice and experience more than theory – with the goal of providing practical and actionable help to organizations so they have the internal capacity to move quickly and confidently in executing on their strategy.
When Lance is not at work, he can be found trying his best to prepare Ali and Sam, his twin teenagers, for the complex 21st century life that awaits them, and volunteering for the board of the National AIDS Memorial.
